Super Absorbent Polymer Market was assessed at $8,174 million in 2022 and is foreseen to reach $10,551 million by 2028, at a growth rate of about 8.2% during the forecast period 2023-2028
Superlative absorbing power is used in disposable personal care products. They are made up of synthetic ingredients in their composition. Other applications include healthcare, construction, packaging, agriculture & horticulture, automotive, entertainment, and industrial water. Super absorbent polymers are available in various types, such as sodium polyacrylamide of the synthetic group and polysaccharides of the natural group.
In December 2017, the increase in production capacity of acrylic acid and super absorbent polymers was declared by LG Chemicals Ltd. LG Chemicals Ltd invested US$ 300 Billion to improve its production of superabsorbent polymers from 100 KT to 500 KT per year.
New application developments and product designs.
Strict government regulations including administrative support and R&D subsidization.
Growth of the Global population
Increasing demand for fluff fewer diapers
Focus on the effective management of irrigation water
Fluctuations in the prices of raw material
Challenges related to the disposal of non-biodegradable polymers
Expanding call for bio-based super absorbent polymer
For developing economies, the higher growth potential of superabsorbent polymer based on personal hygiene products
In October 2018, the manufacturing facility at Zwijndrecht, Netherlands. Nippon Shokubai expanded its superabsorbent polymers production yield. This new construction has a capacity of over 1,000 tons per year.
Evonik launched a new high-performance superabsorbent in April 2017 ‘FAVOR max.' This new superabsorbent has unlike anything else properties, they make baby diapers and incontinence products and are also absorbent and reliable. It will be helpful for improving the performance of its products and the diverse requirements of customers.

Urinary Bag
Disposable baby diapers increased in the condition of being admired or supported by people with the introduction of SAP as it absorbs about thirty times their weight in urine. The baby diaper industry carries or supports more than 70% share of the superabsorbent polymer industry and North America is the important market producing baby diapers.
According to a recent report, the population above 60 years is rising in the U.S. and Canada which is expected to hold 36.2% and 43% share, respectively, of the total population by 2050. In 2015, the 60+ age group in the U.S. and Canada held 24.5% and 26.5% share of the total population. There is a high demand for incontinence products, and this will be predicted to fuel the demand for superabsorbent polymers in the future.
The agriculture segment is predicted to be rising at a compound annual growth rate of 7.4% in terms of revenue in the forecast period. The growth can be contributed to extensive research conducted by governments and agricultural agencies in countries like the U.S., China, and India for novel applications of super-absorbent polymers
